Native American Style Love Flute

picture of 1 Fire Flute

The Native American Style Love Flute is also called a 1 Fire Flute.

This flute was traditionally used for courting and has been heralded as the best type of Native American Style flute ever made.

The Native American Love Flute is in the Plains design classification. This means a tuner that is very easy to play has been installed in the body of the flute itself. This tuner is also referred to as a "smoker's tuner" and doesn't steal the air like others of it's class.

A courting flute has extra time spent in it's manufacture. The wood is thinned in the middle to allow better tonal quality. It is crafted from American grown hardwood that is heat treated (or kiln dried), and made in America.

Once completed, they are finished in an FDA-approved clear coat gloss referred to as a "salad bowl finish."

The flute is hand crafted with every hole burned into the wood so a fault won't develop after a period of time.

Each flute is signed and dated by the craftsman.

The Native American Style Love Flute starts at around $120

This Native American Style 3 Fire Flute has also been called a Council Flute.

It was used in the tribal ceremonies and functions where loudness and shrillness were required.

It's music was used to span a distance of three fires.

It was also used for evening family gatherings around the campfire.

This flute is a traditional Regular Plains Flute. That means the tuner is in the body of the flute itself. This tuner is also referred to as a "smoker's tuner" and doesn't steal the air like others of it's class.

It is constructed of American grown hardwood that is heat treated, (or kiln dried).

Each flute is hand crafted and every hole has been burned into the wood so a fault won't develop after a period of time.

Once completed, they are finished in an FDA-approved clear coat gloss referred to as a "salad bowl finish."

Each flute is signed by the maker and dated.

The Native American Style 3 Fires Flute starts at around $84.00.

The Petite Flute

The Petite Flute has also been called a Child's or Lady's Flute.

This is a non-traditional flute and was designed for a person of slighter stature.

It's only 8 inches from the mouth hole to the first note hole rather than 10-1/2 inches for a standard-size flute…thus, making it much easier for a person of slighter stature to reach the note holes. Also, the note holes are also 1/16th of an inch closer together, lessening the spread of the fingers.

This flute style is able to be used in quick playing, like the Celtic style flutes, while still embodying the traditional full-bodied sounds and tones of the larger flutes.

It's in the Plains design. That means the tuner is in the body of the flute itself. This tuner has also been called a smokers tuner and doesn't steal the air like others of it's class.

This flute is also finished in a gloss that is FDA approved. The clear coat finished is referred to as "a salad bowl finish."

It is constructed of American grown hardwood that is heat treated, (or kiln dried).

Each flute is hand crafted and every hole has been burned into the wood so a fault won't develop after a period of time.

Each flute is signed by the maker and dated.

The Petite Flute starts at around $84.00.

Starter Flute

The Starter Flute is very basic. Flutists call it a raw type flute since it's not tuned as other flutes are.

These flutes tend to have very basic tones with very little tonal quality. The wood is not thinned as other flutes to produce the mellow sound associated with the Native American Flute.

It does however produce an acceptable variation of tones for the beginner to enjoy and is an excellent training tool for the fingers.

It's in the Plains design, which means the tuner is in the body of the flute itself. This tuner is also referred to as a smoker's tuner and doesn't steal the air like others of it's class.

This flute is finished like the others in a gloss finish that is FDA approved. It is a clear coat finished referred to as "a salad bowl finish."

It is constructed of American grown hardwood that is heat treated, (or kiln dried).

Each flute is hand crafted and every hole has been burned into the wood so a fault won't develop after a period of time.

Each flute is signed by the maker and dated.

The Starter Flute starts at around $36.00.
